PHOENIX – A Sacaton man has been sentenced to more than five years in
federal prison in a drug case.
Prosecutors say 27-year-old Alfonso Luis Gomez Jose received a 63-month term
followed by four years of supervised release. He was sentenced Monday in U.S.
District Court in Phoenix.
Gomez pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy to possess with the intent to
distribute less than 28 grams of cocaine base and 5 grams or more of
methamphetamine.
Authorities say Gomez and his father sold meth and cocaine base on multiple
occasions to an undercover officer between December 2007 and September 2010.
They say the two also sold crack cocaine and methamphetamine from their
residence on the Gila River reservation near Phoenix.
Gomez’s father Luis Alfonso Gomez-Castillo is scheduled to be sentenced June
25.
