WASHINGTON (AP) _ Capitol Police have removed a man from the Senate
gallery
after he disrupted proceedings by shouting that abortion is sin, and thanking
Sen. John McCain.
At the time of the incident Tuesday, the Arizona Republican was on the
Senate
floor complaining about leaks of classified information. It was not immediately
clear why the man was thanking McCain, but the senator paused and said,
quote:
“I guess I’ll take a compliment where I can get it.”
Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider identified the shouter as Rives Grogan.
Schneider said Grogan was being held and that police charged him with
disruption
of Congress.
