PHOENIX — The Arizona Supreme Court has publicly censured a judge for
misconduct in office.
The state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct announced the censure of Caryl
Parker on Monday. Parker has served as a pro tem justice of the peace in
Maricopa County and as a pro tem judge in the Chandler Municipal Court.
A complaint was filed against Parker last year, accusing her of improper ex parte communications in a case involving an injunction against harassment.
The commission said the high court agreed to censure Parker after she admitted
violating the judicial code of conduct. Under the code, Parker is required to be
honest and candid with the commission when responding to a complaint.
