PEORIA, Ariz. – Authorities have identified a body found inside a Peoria
home after a fire was extinguished.

Peoria police announced Monday that the victim was 58-year-old Wayne R. Kelley.

They say Kelley owned the one-story home and died at the scene of last week’s
fire in the suburb west of Phoenix.

A 911 call was received about 2:45 p.m. Friday from neighbors regarding a fire
in the 7900 block of West Cheryl Drive.

Peoria Fire Department officials say flames and thick smoke had spread
throughout the house by the time units arrived.

Fire officials found Kelley’s body in the back of house and say crews were
unable to revive him.

The fire’s cause and origin still are under investigation, but authorities say
they don’t believe the blaze is suspicious in nature.
