A Phoenix police motorcycle officer is in the hospital after colliding with an Salt River Project truck near 43rd Avenue and Northern.
“When Phoenix Fire and officers got to the scene, our motor sergeant was conscious,” said Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes. “He was talking. They put him on a backboard and they transported him to a local hospital. I’m being told that, right now, he is stable.”
Holmes said the SRP truck was at a stop sign and pulled out to make a left turn when the officer’s motorcycle hit the truck.
The driver of the SRP truck did not suffer any injuries.
43rd Avenue was closed between Dunlap and Northern as a result of the crash.
