Scottsdale apartment fire displaces 4

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Four people are now displaced after a fire broke out
inside a Scottsdale apartment.
KPHO-TV reported Scottsdale firefighters responded Friday
morning to a fire at Park Place Apartments near Camelback and Hayden roads.
According to Capt. Sasha Weller, the blaze started at about 2 a.m. and was contained in one unit but three surrounding condos were damaged by smoke and
water.
Authorities said four residents, including a disabled man who needed assistance
evacuating, escaped without injury.
Weller said flames burned through the roof by the time crews arrived and part
of the burned apartment collapsed.
The American Red Cross is helping the residents with emergency needs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
