After thousands of votes in less than a week, we have a winner in the Mac & Gaydos Presidential Pick Fest.
Ladies and gentlemen, your winner is none other than the Coiff himself, Donald Trump.
The mogul squared off against Cinderella-story Marco Rubio in the final round, but the senator stood no chance. Trump beat him by more than 400 votes.
Here’s what the final bracket looked like for those playing along at home:
In the first round, top seeds Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker and Jeb Bush knocked out George Pataki/Jim Gilmore, Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum and Lindsey Graham.
Two-seeds Chris Christie, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio made quick work of Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry and Ben Carson. We also had our first upset, with Mike Huckabee taking down John Kasich.
In the second round, the matchups were much closer, but the top seeds stayed strong. Well, save for Bush, who was knocked out in an upset by Rubio. Trump, Cruz and Walker all beat their opponents by at least 10 percentage points.
In the semi-final, Trump once again emerged victorious, but it was Rubio who provided the upset surprise. He beat Walker by just 13 votes!
That didn’t matter though in the finals, when Trump proved to be unbeatable.
We’d like to thank the folks over at ABC News for coming up with the bracket for the GOP presidential nominees with some help from FiveThirtyEight.
Most importantly, we’d like to thank all of you for taking the time to vote! We’ll see who actually gets the nomination soon.
Wait, this election is in 2016?! Sigh…
