HOPE HULL, Ala. (AP) — A man rescued by a postal worker after falling in his house and lying wounded on the floor for 10 days is in the hospital recovering from his injuries.
WSFA-TV (http://bit.ly/1JegYCx) reports that officials say 66-year-old Tommy Hope of Hope Hull fell inside his home July 4 and suffered broken bones in his arm and other injuries to his leg and hip.
Mail carrier Cissy Cartwright discovered Hope dehydrated and wounded on the floor of his home after noticing he hadn’t checked his mail in several days. She called 911 and waited with him until an ambulance arrived.
Hope, who does not have immediate family nearby, has had surgery to repair his broken bones and will have to spend several weeks in a rehabilitation facility.
