Officials begin to contain California wildfire after jumping highway

Officials with the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported that they have begun to contain the 3,500-acre wildfire that raged through parts of Southern California Friday.
The North Fire has been five percent contained as of Friday night, after growing from 2,000 acres earlier in the afternoon.

The wildfire jumped Interstate 15, which forced officials to close the southbound roadway and call for mandatory evacuations in the Baldy Mesa area, according to NBC Los Angeles.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department reported that 20 vehicles were destroyed and 10 were damaged in the fire. Four structures have also been destroyed.

No injuries have been reported.
