SALT LAKE CITY — A small airplane crashed shortly after takeoff in a remote area of Emery County. The sheriff’s office there says both men on the plane were unharmed.
The Deseret News reports that the 55-year-old and 60-year-old residents of Scottsdale, Arizona, were on a trip visiting famous airstrips in the region when they crashed on Saturday afternoon.
The Emery County Sheriff’s Office says the Cessna 182 was caught in a crosswind that carried it off the Hidden Splendor airstrip. The plane clipped a wing and was thrown over the edge of a deep wash.
