Walker jabs Clinton in New Hampshire stop

AMHERST, N.H. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Thursday that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state left many parts of the world more “messed up” than they were before she took over as America’s top diplomat.
And while he has limited foreign policy experience, the second-term Republican governor argued he is best positioned to defeat her in the 2016 general election.
“I’m about as anti-Washington as you can get. She embodies everything that’s wrong with Washington,” Walker told reporters after campaigning at a diner in the first-in-the-nation primary state.
New Hampshire marks the third early voting state on Walker’s rollout tour. He formally entered the GOP presidential race on Monday. He’s one of 17 Republicans seeking the presidency.
Walker did not have the state to himself. Republican White House hopefuls, businessman Donald Trump and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, were scheduled to appear in New Hampshire later in the day. And Clinton discussed her economic policies during a New Hampshire town hall meeting at roughly the same time.
Walker was quick to seize the opportunity to criticize Clinton, who is the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination.
He said he offers a fresh face while Clinton is a candidate from the past, adding that he has a better history of accomplishments. All Clinton did as secretary of state, Walker said, was accumulate frequent flyer miles.
“I think it would be hard to argue that the places she’s been involved within the first four years of President (Barack) Obama’s tenure aren’t more messed up today than they were before she and the president took office,” he charged.
Walker has cast himself as someone willing to take on the tough fights in Wisconsin. He survived a recall election in 2012 that stemmed from his successful efforts to curtail public employees’ collective bargaining power.
