Phoenix-area brothers shine in detailing duty on original Air Force One jet

PHOENIX — A pair of brothers with a Scottsdale detailing business are enjoying their third time around on a team that is making over the first Air Force One jet.
Christopher and Christian Parker of Detail Boss are working at the Museum of Flight in Seattle this week as part of a special detailing team restoring the old presidential airplane.
In a Facebook post, the brothers wrote: “We take pride in the many opportunities we’ve had over the years. Detailing one-off custom classics, multi-million dollar motor coaches, high-end exotics; but they still pale in comparison to this one. Air Force One SAM970. The first jet plane Air Force One.”
Previous presidential aircraft were essentially retooled wartime transport planes.
SAM 970 was the primary jet transportation to U.S. presidents from Dwight Eisenhower to Richard Nixon and remained in the active fleet through Bill Clinton’s administration.
Detail duty for the crew ends July 18.
