PHOENIX — A man was killed in a chain-reaction accident on a Valley freeway when his rental car was slammed into a tow truck.
The 54-year-old man died Sunday evening on Interstate 10 near 19th Avenue.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman said when the man’s rental car, broken down and sitting on the side of the road, was rear-ended by a speeding SUV.
The car was then shoved into a tow truck, which was picking up another disabled vehicle.
