BOSTON (AP) — Prosecutors say they haven’t ruled out additional charges against a suspect accused of shoving a woman who later died of a head injury in Boston.
The victim was identified Friday as 72-year-old Yuzhen Lei.
Authorities say Lei was pushed Wednesday by Tajanetta Downing after they bumped into each other in Boston’s Chinatown section. A cameraman working on the “Ghostbusters” movie called police and gave them a description that helped officers track down Downing.
Lei hit her head on the pavement and died Thursday at a hospital.
Downing pleaded not guilty to assault charges before Lei died. Her attorney didn’t return a call seeking comment Friday.
A spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley says the state medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of Lei’s death.
