LOS ANGELES (AP) — Susan Sarandon is reuniting with big-screen co-star Nick Nolte for a TV political satire.
The Epix premium channel said Sarandon will play a former first lady opposite Nolte’s ex-U.S. president in the half-hour series titled “Graves.”
It’s set to debut in August 2016, which will coincide with the final months of the real-world American presidential campaign.
In “Graves,” Sarandon’s character decides to fulfill her own political ambitions as her husband begins an unlikely effort to right his administration’s wrongs, Epix said.
Sarandon and Nolte played a married couple in the 1992 theatrical release “Lorenzo’s Oil,” which earned Sarandon an Oscar nomination.
