PHOENIX (AP) — Maricopa County authorities say a dead body has been found at the Central Arizona Project pumping station in the Tonto National Forest.
Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol Deputies were called out to Bush Highway and Granite Reef Dam about noon Monday about a woman’s body floating in the pond below the pumping station.
MCSO’s Search and Recovery Dive Team recovered the unidentified victim.
Sheriff’s officials say it’s unclear where and why the woman entered the CAP canal.
They say there were no obvious signs of trauma found on the body, which has been taken to the county Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
