NEW YORK (AP) — Former ABC News President David Westin will now be going in front of the camera.
Bloomberg Television announced Monday that it had hired Westin as an on-air personality, where he will start later this month. Westin said details of his role are still being worked out.
Westin led ABC News from 1997 to 2010, managing the news division from the Roone Arledge era through Sept. 11, the death of anchor Peter Jennings and financial retrenchment in the industry.
Claudia Milne, global head of Bloomberg Television, cited Westin’s background in business and as a lawyer. He is also an expert on the media and, she said, “a calm, intelligent presence on the air.”
