Arizona company begins tests on automated plant growing system

PHOENIX — Green Planet Group, Inc. announced Tuesday that it has begun initiating barley fodder growing tests at its Tempe, Arizona, headquarters, according to a recent press release.

The environmentally-conscious production company’s subsidiary, Healing the Earth, Inc., began the process in early May and has seen “extremely positive” results so far. The company hopes to refine key elements in its automated plant growing system.

The system aims to provide organic barley fodder to feed cattle 100 percent naturally, with no genetically modified organisms or chemical fertilizers.

Edmond Lonergan, founder and CEO of Green Planet Group, said his team is excited and enouraged by the initial growing test results.

“As compared to fodder growing systems currently on the market, our system is producing fodder that is taller, heavier and nutrient-packed,” he said in the press release.

By this upcoming week, Lonergan said he hopes the company will have its computer-controlled lighting and water/nutrient distribution systems set up, which could lead to greater results in product mass and quality.

Green Planet Group projects that the subsidiary revenues could exceed $46 million, with a gross profit of $19 million, within the next four years.
