A sitting congresswoman, Ann Kirkpatrick, will challenge Sen. John McCain in Arizona.

National prognosticators reclassifed the race from “Safe Republican” to “Leans Republican”. This is a big deal.

Will McCain get a similarly first-tier challenger within his own party?

The constitutionality of the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission will be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in the next month. That decision could completely reshuffle Arizona congressional politics.

On the presidential level, Hillary Clinton has a challenger: Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT). He won’t win, but he could force her to face some issues in the Democratic primaries that she would rather avoid. That race, also, just got a whole lot more interesting this week.

On the home front, Gov. Doug Ducey just warned business leaders NOT to support an initiative to support an increase in education funding. Wow! This is his core constituency!

How will this go over? These folks are not used to being dictated to.

This week’s Think Tank covers these and other hot-button issues, such as internal border checks and 12 month lifetime welfare limits.
