Obama, South Korean president to meet at White House in June

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will meet with South Korean President Park Geun-hye (goon-hay) at the White House next month.

The White House says the June 16 meeting will give the leaders an opportunity to reaffirm relations between the U.S. and a key Asian ally.

Their talks will cover a range of security, economic and global issues, including the U.S.-South Korea alliance and its role in assuring stability and security in the region.

They are also expected to discuss the security situation on the Korean Peninsula due to the continued threat posed by North Korea.

The White House says environmental, health and cybersecurity issues are also on the agenda.
