DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — A reunited family of ducks waddled away soon after a city sewer worker rescued 10 ducklings from a Dubuque storm drain.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald says (http://bit.ly/1KhPIUK ) several people called 911 to report seeing a distressed duck around 11:30 a.m. Monday just a few blocks west of the Mississippi River. A police officer sent to the scene determined that the ducklings had fallen into the drain, apparently while trying to cross East 15th Street.

Bill Kelly and other city sewer workers arrived and removed the heavy drain grill so he could reach the ducklings and move them to safety back above ground.
