PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey named a new director to lead the state’s
Department of Health Services.
Dr. Cara Christ will head the agency that oversees public health. She was named Wednesday.
Christ joined the department in 2008 and has served as its
chief medical officer, licensing director and deputy director of public health.
She obtained her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of
Medicine in 2005.
Christ replaced Will Humble, who left the department in March. Humble now works
for the University of Arizona’s Arizona Health Sciences Center.
