PHOENIX — March is typically a busy time in the Phoenix area, but nowhere was busier this year than Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
For the second straight year, the airport broke its own record for the number of passengers it handled, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.
In 2014, 4 million passengers passed through Sky Harbor in March, up 3.2 percent from 2012. This year, the airport recorded a whopping 4.25 million passengers.
While multiple airlines reported double-digit percentage increases in passenger growth, it was the big airlines that flew the most people to the Valley. US Airways brought in 1.9 million passengers and Southwest followed with 1.3 million.
