PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — Authorities in Prescott Valley said Monday 66 damaged
school buses now have been repaired in what investigators believe could have
been part of a senior prank.
Prescott Valley police said officers were called to the Humboldt Unified School
District bus barn at about 4:30 a.m. after employees reported the damage.
Police said the damage consisted mostly of the removal of valve stems to deflate
They said repairs necessitated outside heavy machinery such as tow trucks to
re-inflate the tires and make them safe for travel.
The total damages after repairs isn’t known yet.
Police originally were told that 83 buses were damaged.
District officials had to come up with alternate transportation to get several
hundred children to school and were forced to cancel field
