PHOENIX — More than 730,000 Arizonans will take to the roads and skies for a Memorial Day getaway weekend, Triple-A said.
Spokeswoman Michelle Donati said about 90 percent of vacationing Arizonans are expected to drive to their destination.
The travel organization said low gas prices and improved consumer confidence should lead to a 4.9 percent increase in the number of travelers compared to 2014.
Donati said most Arizonans will make their way west to destinations such as Anaheim, California; San Diego, California and Las Vegas.
Nationwide, Triple-A expects more than 37 million Americans will travel over the holiday weekend.
