SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Under-served veterans in the Scottsdale area are getting a new primary care clinic.
“Veterans who live in the Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree area will now have access to VA health care closer to home,” said Jean Schaefer, public affairs officer for the Phoenix VA Health Care System.
There’s been a space crunch at the Carl T. Hayden Medical Center in Phoenix. The new clinic will help address that issue.
“When the clinic is fully operational, we expect to serve about 3,000 veterans who live in that part of the county,” she added.
The outpatient clinic will be using telehealth technologies so that veterans can receive specialty care.
“We’ll be able to provide primary care and some mental health services,” Schaefer said.
The clinic will have two patient-aligned care teams, each with a physician, RN, LPN and a clerk.
“We will also have a pharmacy and dietitian on hand,” she said.
The new veterans’ outpatient clinic is located at 11390 E. Via Linda in Scottsdale. The clinic is scheduled to see its first patient Friday.
