NJ may add social media to school curriculums

Plenty of kids have been known to post tasteless things online, but that may soon change in New Jersey.
According to CBS Philly, students in New Jersey may soon be taught then benefits and dangers social media offers.
“It could affect them if they apply for a college or university,” says [Camden County Assemblyman Angel] Fuentes, “or if they wish to enter the Armed Forces, or even a career for that matter.”
Fuentes dismissed talk of the effort being nothing more than an unfunded mandate and compared the proper use of social media to safe sex and drug awareness.
“We want our children to take advantage of social media,” said Fuentes, “but at the same token, to learn about the consequences, the negative consequences.”
Fuentes called bullying that takes place on social media a public safety issue.
