Schweikert: History of lies blocking new budget ideas

Rep. David Schweikert said lying on both sides of the aisle could be creating a roadblock to budget reform.
“It’s math,” he told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos. “My theory is, we’ve been lied to for so long by Washington, D.C.”
Schweikert, a Republican, said that he has had protestors follow him from town hall to town hall, determined to tell them how they feel about the budget.
“Eventually, you get so frustrated that you walk to the back of the room, hand them your calculator and say, ‘Please, find me the feelings button. I haven’t figured out that calculation yet,'” he said.
Things got ugly in Schweikert’s recent primary race with fellow Republican Ben Quayle, something the Schweikert said he regretted.
