When the Santa Barbara shooting took all those lives, the response from most people was that mental health care in the United States has to be improved.
But isn’t that fairly obvious? Isn’t that what was said after all those other mass murders? And hasn’t a dramatic change been needed for years?
Directly related to improving treatments for the mentally ill is the question of availability of firearms to them. In order to get answers to those very complex questions, it’s necessary to address the problem with the help of a professional — a staff member of psychological counseling services.
