McMahon: Running

You know the old saying ‘the United States is the one country where anyone can run for President.” But it seems as if there’s some confusion as to what that was intended to mean.
No where and at no time has anyone in authority said that everyone must run for the Presidency. I was reminded of that when I read that Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachman hasn’t decided yet whether she wants to set her sights on the White House.
What? There are people in her home state of Minnesota that still think of her as that other pretty lady that’s always in the news who isn’t Sarah Palin.
Herman Cain of Georgia is considering the race. His credentials. He’s a talk show host. That truly is the sign of the apocalypse.
Rudy Giuliani has instant name recognition but Jon huntsman of Utah? Joe Scarborough and Donald Trump are looking at D.C. for their TV futures in 2012. But Dennis Knill? And he’s from Arizona! Please!
If you want to be the president of the United States and you want me to display your bumper sticker on my car – first let me know how to spell your name.
