Pat McMahon: Jobs

Considering the fact that almost everybody in America is seriously considering “jobs” as the No. 1 topic of discussion and the No. 1 problem to solve, I couldn’t believe what I was reading in the Career Builders section of The Arizona Republic.
It was benevolently called interview mistakes. I might take it a step further and refer to the article as bonehead stupidity from unemployed dolts.
Too harsh, you say? Listen to this: One job applicant during her interview blew her nose incessantly and then lined up the used tissues on the desk in front of her. Another brought a copy of a college diploma that had obviously been altered with correction fluid and, in addition, the name had been changed. One guy actually did the interview while wearing a hat that said “take this job and shove it.”
I could never make this stuff up. So, with the job market being as tight as it is, these are the people that are applying? Funny, I never thought the early signs of the apocalypse would be on the business page.
