Pat McMahon: Nearly super

The Bears were hibernating, the Packers were packing and their weapons were not concealed. Green Bay looked like a Super Bowl team from the beginning series of this first playoff game Sunday and Chicago looked like it had played in Jamaica all year and suddenly found itself in Siberia.
Those were the conditions at Soldiers Field, but this is the Bears’ home and, through most of the game, it looked like they were representing the Philippines as the Manila Folders. In fact, when their third quarterback came in, I thought in a bizarre world, the Cardinals had made the playoffs. That quarterback Caleb Haynie was good, but not good enough, and when a 338-pound lineman named Raji scores the winning touchdown, you knew it was Green Bay’s day.
The Packers will meet Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl in Arlington, Texas. Actually, in Pittsburgh there were two games played Sunday. The first one was won 24-0 by the Steelers, the second 19-0 by the Jets. That means the Steelers will play the Packers in the Super Bowl on Feb. 6. Those are two legendry organizations, each with amazing fans. I san Pittsburgh by 14.
