Mac & Gaydos give great news to a former PCH patient

We’re pretty lucky guys.

In our line of work, we get the chance to meet some incredible people who lead lives we can’t even fathom.

Shoney is one of those people. She had an omphalocele, meaning she was born with her organs outside of her body, and has been in and out of Phoenix Children’s Hospital for years. We first met her during the KTAR Give-A-Thon back in September.

After Gaydos gave her a stuffed bear, Shoney wanted to come down to not only say hello to Gaydos, but to jump on the air. Thus the “Shoney and Gaydos Show” was born.

Fast-forward to February and Shoney is out of the hospital. Of course, she wanted to come on for another edition of the show and we couldn’t say no.

But this time, we had more than a stuffed bear for her. A lot more.

From all of us here at Mac & Gaydos and KTAR, enjoy your trip, Shoney!
