President Barack Obama appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday, and one particular segment has caught fire on social media once the taping was all said and done.
“From time to time, we give celebrities a chance to read some of the mean things people tweet about them. We extended that same offer to our commander in chief, who happily agreed,” Kimmel said in his introduction to the latest version of his show’s “Mean Tweets.”
The segment usually features several celebrities or athletes reading unflattering things said about them on Twitter, but the president was the sole focus of the newest edition.
Most of the tweets actually seem pretty mild compared to other things said about him online, but the self-deprecating segment still hits a home run.
It finishes with a particularly funny bit on jeans, as Kimmel joins in on the joke.
The president wasn’t the only member of his family to appear on a television talk show Thursday. His wife, Michelle, was on “Ellen” in the afternoon, who broke out in dance with the show’s host to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”
