Renowned entertainment company CollegeHumor has released a funny video featuring several notable artists who are auditioning for a Star Wars cantina band.
The audition takes place on the planet of Tatooine, and the cantina band hopefuls are as follows: Chris Daughtry, Ben Folds, Liz Phair, Reggie Watts, Mark McGrath, Valley product Jordin Sparks, Rick Springfield, Weird Al Yankovich (hasn’t he already done some Star Wars-themed songs?), Lisa Loeb and MC Chris. The artists all take center stage with names more appropriate the Star Wars universe.
All the musicians either are turned down by the judges or find a way to disqualify themselves. Sparks’ part pokes fun at her “American Idol” days.
The video is just in time for May 4 — an unofficial Star Wars holiday in which you might hear somebody say, “May the Fourth be with you.”
Lucasfilm recently announced the cast of a new installment of the popular franchise, which will see the returns of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.
