On Monday, Jerusalem traffic came to a halt, and the result was beautiful and poignant.
On Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day, those of the Jewish faith stop to honor their own who have fallen to violence, especially during World War II.
From just before the air siren starts to right as it ends, every single car on this Israeli highway comes to a complete stop, with most passengers exiting their vehicles to stand silently.
It’s an eerie site, but a beautiful one, as for even just two minutes, everyone is united in pain, hope and faith.
