Canadian industrial band Skinny Puppy is making a political statement, but it’s not with a new song.
Instead, they have sent a bill to the U.S. Department of Defense for the devilish amount of $666,000, according to The Verge.
As it turns out, Guantanamo Bay had the band’s music on rotation, as the prison used loud music to torture inmates.
“We sent them an invoice for our musical services considering they had gone ahead and used our music without our knowledge and used it as an actual weapon against somebody,” band member Cevin Key told CTV News.
Oddly enough, the band was alerted to the unauthorized usage by a former Guantanamo Bay guard who happened to be a fan of the band.
While Skinny Puppy is not expecting reimbursement from the federal government, they are looking into their legal options.
