Inside an apartment near Country Club and Brown in Mesa a man was murdered in 2006.

“This is a person who just really wanting to reinvent himself and, unfortunately, was never given the chance,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch.

On Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, witnesses said Kendall White was in the parking lot of his apartment complex when he was approached by three men. It appeared he knew them because he invited them into his home. A short time later, one of the men shot White then all three took off.

By all accounts, White was a good guy. He liked to go bowling, cook and he played the drums at church. He liked being around people.

“Kendall lived at that apartment for only a month or so,” said Burch. “He’d recently relocated here from Connecticut where he was a high school basketball star. He had two sons and a daughter and he’d moved here to be closer to them and his mother.”

Our next case is a copper theft but not your typical copper theft.

It happened at an APS facility in north Phoenix on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. Just after 11 a.m., the suspect scaled a tall block wall and went into the yard of the facility.

“He’s probably done this before because he had a plan,” said Burch. “He takes the spool of copper wire, places it next to the wall he needs to climb over and basically uses it as a ladder. But, before he climbs back over the wall, he attaches the wire to his clothing, goes over the wall then pulls the wire over into his hands.”
