This may or may not be a kidnapping case. Either way, police are hoping you can help close the books on it.
It was on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 about 11 p.m. at the AM/PM at 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch said a silver gray Volkswagon Jetta pulled in next to the air machine and the passenger went in to get change. When he came back he got into an argument with the driver.
“And then at one point, the person who may or may not be a kidnapping victim, turned to walk away but was grabbed from behind and pulled into the Jetta,” said Burch. “The vehicle was driving away as he was still stuggling in the open door. You could see his legs kicking and flailing. He was clearing trying to stop from being forced into that vehicle.”
A witness said the car was swerving in the road with the door hanging open.
“This could be a situation where he’s laying dead in a gutter or he could have had an argument and now they’re all best friends,” said Burch. “We don’t know.”

Our next crime happened in the Walmart parking lot at 51st Avenue and Indian School. On Friday, August 31, 2012, at 1 a.m., a man entered the store and went straight to the restrooms.
“He was in the bathroom for a very short time and when he came out,” said Burch. “He immediately followed the two victims as they were walking out of the Walmart. Then he confronted them in the parking lot.”
The suspect asked them for a dollar and when they didn’t give him the money, he pretended to have a gun and yanked a necklace off one of the victims. Just then, a dark gray Nissan Altima with chrome rims pulled alongside him. He jumped in and they took off.
