PHOENIX – Phoenix police need the public’s help finding
the killer(s) of 29-year-old Steward Bryant.

Bryant’s cousin, Natasha Saenz, says he had arrived in
Phoenix less than a week before his murder took place,
looking for a summer job.

He was going back to school in his hometown of Farmington,
New Mexico to be a control operator so he could work at
power plants like his dad.

“We loved him a lot and this is still hard to believe,”
Saenz told KTAR’s Jayme West. “He liked to play basketball
and he was very much into sports. He was very competitive
and a very fun-loving person. He loved family time with
his family and friends.”

Saenz says Stewart was also relearning his native Navajo
language. He was the youngest of three children and
relished being the baby.

“Every time he would go to my aunt’s house and to our
house, we would always make him his favorite food with
this Indian fried bread. Everybody spoiled him and
everybody liked him, he always liked to laugh and make
jokes.”

On June 5, he was at a local bar, which was Charlie’s at
7th Avenue and Camelback Road, and that was the last time
anyone had seen him.

Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch says at 3 a.m. the
next morning, Bryant’s body was found.

“He was stabbed to death and found just south of that
location at 7th Avenue and Camelback Road,” said Burch.
“The detective has no clues in this investigation and
absolutely needs the community’s assistance. The victim
was only in the city for such a short period of time that
we don’t know of any inner-circle that could be
responsible. So, we have no information whatsoever on this
crime.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at
(480) WITNESS.
