PHOENIX – There are three things going for this case that just might get it solved: the suspect’s shirt, the suspect’s car and the great surveillance pictures of him.

The man committed his crime on Friday, September 17th, 2010 at a little market on Van Buren near 16th Street. It was just after 8 a.m., according to Phoenix police sergeant Darren Burch.

“He walks in, (and) the clerk things it’s going to be a customer,” Burch said. “Then he displays a black handgun.”

Burch says the man ordered the clerk to the ground then emptied the cash register himself. He grabbed the cash and a few other items from the store.

“Then he left in a somewhat unique, older-style convertible – baby-blue Chevy Cavalier,” Burch said.

Yep, a baby-blue Cavalier convertible. Don’t see many of those around.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 40 years of age. He is less than six feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

“At that time he was wearing a black shirt with the words ‘bada bing’ on the front and a black baseball cap,” Burch said.

Bada bing. There’s another clue. Add that to the fact that there are good surveillance photos, and police are confident that they’ll soon bring in their man.
