GILBERT, Ariz. – Imagine you’re sitting parked in a truck on a quiet night with your significant other. Then chaos – guns, yelling, pushing.
It happened to a young couple in Gilbert on Monday, October 30, 2006.
The nightmare actually began to unfold in another East Valley city, at about 10 p.m.
“Three Hispanic males in their early 20s stole a car in Chandler and drove into Gilbert,” says Phoenix Police Sergeant Paul Penzone.
He says they drove to the parking lot of Mercy Gilbert Hospital near Val Vista and Pecos. “Once in the parking lot, they decided to dump the first car and try to steal another.”
After four unsuccessful attempts to steal another vehicle, they spotted the green Ford Ranger with the young couple inside.
“The suspects approached them armed with a handgun, threatened the victims and forced them out of their own truck.”
In a matter of seconds the couple was left scared, stranded in the dark in a parking lot. They were shaken up but no one was hurt.
Police really want to find the truck and the suspects. “The truck is a Ford Ranger with Arizona license plate of 992 TVX. It’s already described as having front passenger side damage and a broke driver’s side window. The trucks windows are also tinted.”
