Two bank robbers with two very different styles. The first happened Saturday afternoon, September 19th, 2009, at the U.S Bank inside the Safeway near Peoria and 67th avenues.
“He approached the teller, he told him he had a weapon and that this was a robbery,” said Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch. “The teller said where is your weapon? I have to see it first. The suspect made some comment saying ‘Oh I’ll be back again,’ and then left.”
He says while it thwarted a heist this time, calling a robbers bluff isn’t a good idea.
“I’m not sure if this is a situation where the teller might have seen this guy approaching and saw there was nothing in his hands and decided to call his bluff, but this is not something we would advocate whatsoever,” said Burch.
The suspect is described as black, in his early 20’s, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, medium complexion and described as acting nervous.
The other bank robbery we’re profiling today is responsible for at least six hold-ups since august 2009.
“This guy will probably not be acting nervous,” Burch said. “He has hit everywhere from Glendale to Scottsdale, but mostly Wells Fargo Banks.”
The FBI is offering an additional $5 thousand reward in this case.
He’s described as Hispanic or white, in his late 20’s or early 30’s. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 0 inches tall. He has a medium build and black hair. He had a black goat-t and a mustache.
“This guy looks a lot more professional than the first case,” said Burch. “He’s extremely prolific as far as he’s hit this many times in a short period of time, so there’s no reason to think he’s going to stop.”
