PHOENIX – There were three things in 21-year-old Marcus Dickson’s life that he was passionate about. His 3-year-old daughter, Lil Wayne and skateboarding. Marcus was one of the top skateboarders in the Valley.

“He was known to be the only one to be able to do the “Superman,” so he was actually pretty good and everyone loved to watch him get out there and ride his board,” said Marcus’ big sister Tina Dickson.

Tina Dickson says her little brother was the baby of the family, the youngest of seven children. He was born and raised in Phoenix and had a lot of friends. On Saturday, March 21 just after 6 p.m., his life abruptly and tragically ended.

“He was riding his skateboard westbound on Louis Ave. from 69th Ave. just south of Thomas,” said Phoenix Police Detective Mike Fisher.

Detective Fisher says a dark-colored four door car pulled-up to Marcus.

“Two passengers exited the vehicle and one of them started talking to the victim Marcus,” said Fisher. “As Marcus was talking to one of the guys, the other guy pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.”

They took off leaving him dead in the street. Detective Fisher says a woman was driving the car. She’s described as either white or light-skinned Hispanic with blonde highlights.

“There were three Hispanic men in the vehicle in their late teens or early twenties,” said Detective Fisher.
