PHOENIX – A Utah-based entertainment center featuring movie theaters, a bowling alley and more is expanding its Phoenix-area presence.
FatCats told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Tuesday it is targeting a November opening for its new 64,000-square-foot complex off Recker Road south of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway in northeast Mesa.
In January, crews broke ground at the site, which in addition to eight movie screens and 20 bowling lanes will have an arcade, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, a party room and virtual reality activities. There will be a restaurant and bar, too.
FatCats also has a Queen Creek location at Ellsworth and Riggs roads in the works for late 2020.
Currently, the company’s lone foray into Arizona is in Gilbert, where the chain’s largest entertainment center opened in 2015.
FatCats got started in Salt Lake City in 2001 and now has four locations in Utah and one each in Idaho and Colorado.
