Weekend Valley freeway closures include I-10 for new part of Loop 202

PHOENIX — Another Interstate 10 restriction for ongoing construction of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway highlights a busy weekend of Valley freeway closures, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Westbound I-10 will be closed between 51st and 67th avenues in west Phoenix between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday for work on the South Mountain Freeway interchange.

The westbound I-10 on-ramps at 27th, 35th and 43rd avenue will also be closed during that time.

In north Scottsdale, the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Hayden and Scottsdale roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a freeway widening project.

The westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Pima/Princess Drive will also be closed.

In north Phoenix, Interstate 17 will be closed in both directions at Pinnacle Peak Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for bridge work as part of an interchange improvement project. Pinnacle Peak Road will be closed in both directions at I-17 from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m.

The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Happy Valley Road and northbound on-ramp at Deer Valley Road also will be closed.

In the East Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway on-ramp at Ray Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

The southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Elliot Road and southbound off-ramp at Warner Road are now closed until Sept. 26 for reconstruction work.
