Mesa named to list of best large US cities to live in by WalletHub

PHOENIX — In a list made up of the top large U.S. city to live in, Mesa was ranked 18th overall and top-10 in affordability and safety with a total score of 58.53.
Mesa also ranked second in highest homeownership out of the 62 cities.
The WalletHub study compared cities with more than 300,000 citizens. Five dimensions were used to rank the cities: Affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety.
These dimensions were broken down into 56 indicators of attractiveness, each with its own weighted score. The five dimensions could reach a maximum of 20 points.
Virginia Beach, Virginia, received the top spot while Detroit was last.
Phoenix and Tucson also joined Mesa as Arizona’s other two best large cities to live in ranking 35th and 39th.
