A woman learned a tough lesson about leaving her valuables in the car after her purse was stolen earlier this year by two suspects.

“It was Friday, February 9, 2019, at about 5:00 in the afternoon,” says Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild. “Two suspects showed-up near 33rd Avenue and Peoria (Avenue).”

They broke into a woman’s car and stole her purse. Inside was a credit card.

“That credit card was used at a couple of different stores before it was discovered,” says Rothschild.

The suspects, a man and a woman, are seen on surveillance video driving a black, 4-door Hyundai.

Rothschild recommends you make copies of the fronts and backs of credit and debit cards and keep those copies in a safe place.

That way you have quick access to the information if your cards are stolen.

Next: A young woman is dead after an armed robbery at the Arbor Village Apartments near Central Avenue and Baseline Road.

It happened just after 6 a.m. on Monday, April 15.

“Our suspect,” says Sgt. Rothschild, “is reported to have used a shotgun to rob three people. And at one point during the robbery he fired that shotgun, striking and killing a 21-year-old woman.”

Detectives have identified the suspect as Xavier Gonzales, who also goes by the nickname “Waver.”  They need your help finding him.
