Arizona boy arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot up his school

PHOENIX — A 12-year-old boy in northern Arizona was arrested this week for allegedly threatening to shoot up his elementary school.
The boy, who was not identified because of his age, made the threats against Granville Elementary School in Prescott Valley around 10 a.m. Monday, ABC15 reported.
He allegedly said that he would bring a gun to school and start shooting, the television station reported.
The boy was arrested on one count of making terrorism threats and two counts of threatening and intimidating.
He was booked into the Yavapai County Juvenile Detention facility.
Humboldt Unified School District Superintendent Daniel Streeter told KTAR News 92.3 FM that the district will also pursue “appropriate legal and disciplinary action.”
“We take the safety and security of our students very seriously,” Streeter said in an email. “Any threatening comments are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.”
