Suspect arrested after alleged carjacking near ASU’s Tempe campus

PHOENIX — A suspect was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly carjacking a vehicle near Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.
The man accused of entering a woman’s vehicle as she was stopped in the area of University Drive and Mill Avenue, opening the front passenger door and pushing her out.
The suspect did not use any weapons in the alleged carjacking, which happened around 9:30 a.m., Tempe Detective Greg Bacon said in an email.
The suspect and vehicle were later found in the area of 24th Street and Baseline Road in Phoenix.
The woman suffered minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention.
Neither the suspect nor the victim were immediately identified.
